Icewater Seafoods Named ‘2025 Business of the Year’ in NL

Icewater Seafoods was name Business of the Year for 2025 by the Board of Trade, the leading association for Newfoundland and Labrador businesses. Below is the text for the presentation of the award, as well as video that accompanied it.

We’re recognizing a business that is transforming both their operations and their industry through forward-thinking strategies and meeting challenges with a fresh approach. They are innovating in response to change, exploring new ideas, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible – all while never losing sight of where they came from. 

However, perhaps their greatest strength lies in their people – guided by purpose and integrity. They combine a customer-focused approach with a steadfast commitment to sustainability and responsible practices, all while supporting and empowering their team and giving back to community—making a meaningful difference in countless lives. They are a team that leads with care, commitment, and genuine concern for the people and places they serve. 

They don’t settle for the status quo. Instead, they continuously learn, adapt, and leverage insights and tools to identify new opportunities, redefining their industry, and demonstrating care and responsibility toward the environment. 

It is my honour to recognize the people driving this business forward. They are the kind of business that makes you put your hand over your heart, proud to be a Newfoundlander and Labradorian, and a shining example of what can be achieved when dedication, integrity, and vision come together.
